Brewed-Together-I-love-CalligraphyA few weeks ago, I decided to take it upon myself to learn a new skill: calligraphy. I wanted to share a very brief update of the adventures that trying to learn a new skill has taken me on thus far. I decided to try practicing this skill for at least 30 days consecutively. With the consistent practice, it has helped calligraphy to become like second nature to me and it has been a wonderful experience so far. Although I will go ahead and admit that I have missed a few days simply because it is very hard to find time sometimes.

I wanted to share with you all a few photos of some of my calligraphy so far. You might notice a few sayings or words you recognize, and that’s because I’ve been taking calligraphy pieces that have inspired me and tried to practice the same style. I find that a good way for me to learn is to try to replicate several things of several different styles just to see if i can. I have been working on developing my own sense of style by practicing all of these different styles and find that it has been awesome to push myself and grow in new areas that I never saw before. I hope this post will find you wanting to do the same and learn something new with me!

Oh SO pretty! I feel like I’m looking at the writing on Rifle cards. 🙂

Hi Marilyn—met you at GBS in Kansas City. I too love calligraphy. Taught myself years and years ago and I still use it every now and then to bring “fancy” to things! It’s so much fun! Belle
