Almost 8 years ago now, Kaleb and I shared a cup of coffee over our first date together. I had moved to Oklahoma for college (from South Carolina where I was raised). And Kaleb had been living in Ireland for a few years and would return to Oklahoma periodically to visit his family and friends. On one of these returns, we happened to meet for our first time through a mutual friend. However we were both sort of ‘busy-bodies’ at the time and didn’t take the time to meet each other further.

One year later I came back to Oklahoma early before classes began since I was involved in mentoring new students. We met again (when Kaleb was back from Ireland) through the church he attended when he was home. I had actually sort of made a deal with God that I would not be focusing on boys and would be strictly focusing on Him and being more involved at church and my community. So in the midst of attending church in those few weeks, Kaleb and I got to know each other much better and began looking forward to seeing each other. One night Kaleb asked for my number and our first date was to a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Oklahoma City. What began as just coffee for fun, turned into hours of talking, and something magical between us. Coffee has always symbolized that first date for us and our story for the future. Thanks for sharing in our story with us.

That is such an adorable story! Bookstores symbolize something similar between me and my guy. I love those kinds of stories.

Oh that’s such a sweet story! Just goes to show that if the Lord want two to be together, he will make it happen!
