I began a 30 day challenge for myself last Friday to practice a new skill for 30 minutes every day for that time period. I chose to learn how to do calligraphy. And while I technically started before the 30 days, my goal has simply been to practice every day for that time period. (I have a bad habit of picking something up to try and then never following through. So I was not about to let that happen this time). As I’ve been coming up with different things to write for practice, I was inspired to continue off the idea from my post about ‘blooming in your own beauty‘ and write these words as a quote for you this week.

These words take on a huge meaning for me because I think especially as a woman, it’s easy to compare myself to who I think I’m supposed to be instead of simply focusing on my own inner beauty. And when I say ‘beauty,’ I mean who I am on the inside, my strengths, where I want to go, and what defines me. I believe many of us struggle with the temptation of seeing what others have and thinking we need to be just like them. I decided to write these words this week as a reminder to remember who you are and focus on being the best at being YOU, and not anyone else. Happy Monday!

This is beautiful, and I love the saying. You’re right that it is so easy as a woman to compare myself to others or even just the version of myself I think I should be. It gets overwhelming! I am so impressed with your calligraphy prowess, too! Beautiful skill to have:) Hope you guys had a great weekend!

Happy Monday! This was a very inspiring post, Marilyn! I often find myself getting super into something and then never completing it as well. Maybe I should start some 30 day challenges myself!
