Today we’re partnering with Old Navy to share about our most recent family road trip to the Bonneville Salt Flats. One thing you will always find to be true of our little family as that we are always up for an adventure. We love to travel and explore because we love the adventure in all of it. We love the change of scenery and the challenge to explore new cultures. This year one of our secret challenges to ourselves within our new years resolutions was to see more of our home state: Utah. While it feels like we just moved here and are still newbies to the area, we’ve actually had over 2 years to settle in and get comfy. We absolutely love everything about this state. The mountains and desert offer so many unique environments to explore at all times of the year!
Our most recent adventure was a simple short drive to the Bonneville Salt Flats. It’s a short hour and a half drive there from Salt Lake City and for some reason we hadn’t visited yet. We had so much fun visiting this barren place because it’s just another one of natures awesome phenomenons. One of our favorite things about being new parents is introducing a tiny human to all of these new experiences and places for the first time. Taking Genevieve to the Bonneville Salt Flats was of course the highlight of the day for us (and her Papi who was able to tag along with us and help entertain her during some of the photos). She loved exploring the sand, which she hasn’t had too much experience with yet in life.
One thing to note about our adventures is that we love to coordinate our outfits according to the occasion. As a married couple, we’ve always enjoyed even matching our outfits in subtle ways. It is funny how when you are married to someone for a long time, you find that your style and theirs begins to become one in the same, even if you would have chosen opposite styles to begin with. We find this true of our clothing choices, amongst other choices as well, these days and now do the same with our sweet baby girl, Genevieve. She may not have a choice in what she wears yet, but we have a feeling she’d choose the same anyway since she has her mom and dad’s personality.
For our trip to the Bonneville Salt Flats we decided on bold stripes to say ‘Hi’ to Spring. With the weather warming up, it is such a refreshing change to be able to pull off our coats for a while and put on a fresh spring wardrobe. Also if you hadn’t noticed, one of us may have gotten a fresh Spring haircut as well. What ways are you saying ‘Hi’ to Spring with? A fresh haircut? A fresh wardrobe? Feel free to tag your own spring styles to @oldnavy with #oldnavystyle #sayhi.
