For Christmas every year, Kaleb’s family asks us to put together a list of small items we would like to have. And for some reason, it’s always hard for me to come up with something to ask for. However this year, I had planned a few months in advance to ask for a waffle maker. I was so excited about asking for one because it wasn’t something I needed to own right away, but something I definitely wanted. I have recently had these cravings for waffles and really wanted to try my hand at creating some recipes, so I was super excited when I received a waffle maker for Christmas!
I could not have been more thrilled with the choice Kaleb’s parents went with. They purchased a Farberware Square Waffle Maker for us which makes 4 belgian-style waffles at a time. I had the chance to make a few waffles with the waffle maker recently and came up with this recipe for my first time using it. We really enjoyed the results and can’t wait to cook up some more waffles again soon!
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups almond milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 Tablespoon white sugar
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Mix together your eggs, sugar, and salt. Add all other ingredients to your mixture and mix until smooth and there are no other lumps. Pour the allotted amount of batter into your waffle maker once it is heated and ready. Allow to cook for the 4-6 minutes. Usually the waffle maker will already have a setting which will tell you when the waffles are done, so you can use this as well. Serve your waffles with fresh fruit, powdered sugar, and light syrup.
