As we’ve mentioned in the past, we strongly believe that in order to achieve our life goals, be nice to people, and maintain this blog, a healthy lifestyle must be maintained. As a part of that approach we have decided to incorporate the UP24 wristbands by Jawbone into our daily lives to help encourage that awareness. Staying healthy by regulating eating habits, maintaining fitness levels, and sleep cycles are basic human needs and keys to the beginning of happiness. We are excited to share that over the next few months we will be wearing these wristbands and tracking several things we’d like to become more aware of in our own lives: including our sleep cycles, daily food intake, steps per day, physical fitness, and moods.

The thing we love about these bands is that they keep you accountable by allowing you to set goals for yourself on the app (available for download on your smartphone). Once you have set these goals, you can then track them and see what improvements you can make to achieve these. You can even sync other apps along with the UP24 app to see how other daily activities affect your health. We have always enjoyed setting goals for ourselves when it comes to fitness, so we are excited to set fitness, running, and cycling goals. On another note, we are hoping to start getting more sleep and can’t wait to see how these UP24’s help encourage us to go to bed earlier! We plan to share more updates here and on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter as we track our progress.

    Cool band. I’ve found I eat better, sleep better, and feel better when I have some sort of fitness goal on the horizon. A friend and I are to run our first half-marathon in Savannah, Georgia in three weeks, a part of the Rock-n-Roll series. Neither of us have hit the 13 mile mark in a personal run yet, but with it looming out there, it keeps pushing us to go farther. I can see how the band would be a healthy reminder. I’ve been holding out for the iPhone watch, but not sure I want something that ginormous on my wrist.

These wristbands allow for setting wellness goals while tracking daily steps, fitness, sleep, and diet. We love the idea of wearing these because not only are these fashionable and not too obvious, but they have been great for keeping us accountable in our daily fitness goals. While in the past, we have normally aimed to get our cardio routines in 3-5x a week, these UP24 wristbands have encouraged us to even move a little more throughout each day of the week by tracking our steps-per-day. We have both struggled in the past with getting the necessary amount of sleep we need in each night. And our wristbands actually track the amount of sleep we receive each night as well as even monitoring the quality of sleep. While we each set goals of getting at least 6 or 7 hours of sleep each night, the bands actually sync with the UP24 app that will give notification goals of what time to go to bed each night. […]
